| FROM FISH ‘N’ CHIPS TO ROCK ‘N’ ROLL! March 2009 |
|
Tavistock man on the brink of stardom, Will Gee, is fish fryer come bass player as he juggles work at Jack & Jill’s fish and chip shop and touring with his band The Adventures of… Will began working at Jack & Jill’s in August 2008, the same time as the band started landing important gigs and recording tracks. Thanks to the support of his manager he’s been able to balance work with his music, and now he and his three band mates, Adam, James and Ollie, are preparing for their first UK tour. The Adventures of… Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus promises fans a unique night of entertainment and is more cabaret than concert. Jugglers, fire eaters and dancers warm up the crowd before the band performs their circus themed songs. Will explains: “We came up with the idea long before the likes of Britney Spears and Take That! We all get into the spirit and play a role in the circus – Adam is the ring master and I’m a fairground ride controller. We have a lot of fun and so does the audience.” When he’s not on the road, Will works as many shifts as he can at Jack & Jill’s. He said: “My manager, Barry Tapping, has been really supportive of The Adventures of…and I hope he and my other colleagues will come and see us play in London! He lets me take time out for shows and I work as many shifts as possible when I’m home.” The UK tour starts at the end of March and includes London, Bournemouth, Southampton, Exeter and Plymouth.
