TRUE LOVE AT DEEP BLUE

It’s not a traditional aphrodisiac, but Great British Fish & Chips brought together Deep Blue managers Ricky Long and Laura Jacks....

Ricky, 26, started working at the Cambridge fish and chip shop when he was 14, helping with preparation every Saturday. By the time he was 18 he had worked his way up to assistant manager, and that’s when he met Laura.

Laura, 25, had moved from Texas, USA, and applied to work in the shop to help pay her way through dance school. Less than a year later the couple got together and now, after seven years, they have wed in Laura’s home town of Fort Worth.

Laura said: “It’s funny to think that fish and chips were the reason we met! We had a fantastic wedding in Texas with all our friends and family, and look forward to our honeymoon later in the year.”

Both Ricky and Laura are managers at Deep Blue – Laura has taken over at Bury St Edmunds, Hardwick Shopping Centre and Ricky at Cambridge, Cherry Hinton Road.
